Accreditation

11th – 12th Only in
TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY I.S.D.

As stated on the Curriculum page, 11th – 12th Grade Plano Christian Academy students are enrolled in the Texas Tech University Independent School District.  Texas Tech University High School was established in 1993 due to a cooperative effort among Texas Tech University, the Texas Legislature, and the TEA (Texas Education Agency). In 1998, TTUISD added a middle and elementary school to complete the district’s offerings.

All TTUISD students receive official transcripts readily accepted by public and private schools in all states.  Also, students who complete the specified 24 credit hours required by TEA will receive a TEA-accredited high school diploma.

The value of a TEA-accredited diploma is its wide acceptance by universities around the country.  Without accreditation, universities must rely heavily upon a student’s SAT or ACT scores for admission.  Therefore, they often require higher scores from non-accredited students.  An accredited program allows a university to look at the “big picture” concerning a student’s academic achievements.

Future Accreditation

Because we believe that quality education depends on persistent assessment, PCA is pursuing accreditation through ACSI (The Association of Christian Schools International)–the largest, most prestigious accreditation agency for Christian schools in the nation. We are pleased to announce that in the fall. PCA was accepted as a candidate for accreditation through ACSI in all grades (K-12).
